We are currently selecting the timing technology for this year. We will announce this when it have been selected.
What are the entry fees for the 2012 Malibu International Marathon & Half?
Marathon
$109 December 15th 2011 to June 15th 2012
$145 June 16th 2012 to November 10th 2013 (or until maximum participant limit is reached)
Half-Marathon
$65 December 15th 2011 to June 15th 2012
$90 June 16th 2012 - November 10th 2013 (or until maximum participant allowed is reached)
All registration fees include a mandatory $10 tax per runner collected for the City of Malibu
What is the minimum age to participate in the Marathon? Half Marathon?
All athletes must be 18 years old or older. If you are younger than 18 and have a legal guardian, please contact us with this request.

Where can I park?
Marathon
Full Marathons will park at Zuma Beach. Zuma Beach is located at 30500 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu 90265. The buses will be located at the north end of Zuma Beach near Trancas Canyon Rd. Transportation will be provided to the start line of the Marathon. The buses will run from 4:45 am to 5:30 am. The last bus will be leaving at 5:30 am. Do not be late!
Half Marathon
Half Marathoners will park at Zuma Beach (30500 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu 90265). Transportation will be provided from Zuma Beach to the start line. Shuttles will be running from 5:30 am to 6:30 am.

Will bikes, skates, baby joggers be allowed on the course?
No. In accordance with USATF rules, these items will not be allowed on the course. Anyone found to be using these devices will be disqualified.
Are dogs allowed on the course?
No dogs will be allowed on MIM’s course.
Is the course certified? Does this mean BOTH courses -- the full AND the HALF?
Yes. The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston qualifying event. (Certification #CA09067RS)
Is MIM a Boston Qualifier?
Yes.
Is there a time limit for the Full & Half Marathon?
All registrants are expected to be able to complete the full marathon course in six and one-half hours which is a 14minute 53second per mile pace.
All participants will be encouraged to complete their events, however the roadways will be reopened to traffic on a "rolling basis" determined by
that pace. Athletes must then remain out of previously-closed traffic lanes and abide by all traffic control devices. The finish line will remain open until
2:30 p.m. for ALL athletes - full and half -- allowing for a six hour finish for half marathoners (27 minute 29 second per mile pace).

Will there be refreshments at the finish line?
Yes, there will be light refreshments and water at the finish line for all athletes that competed in the Marathon or Half Marathon.

Portable toilets will be located at each start line and approximately every 1.5 miles along the courses as well as at the finish line

*Please plan to arrive at least one hour before race start time. At the starting area you will find water, medical, gear check and portable toilets.

Is online registration secure?
The online registration is protected using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. All information supplied will be transmitted via SSL which encrypts and protects your personal information over the internet.
If I’m registered for the Full Marathon can I switch to the Half?
We will accept event change requests until October 15, 2012 for a $10 processing fee, space permitting. You are required to pay the difference in amounts when switching from the Half to the Full. If you are switching from the Full to the Half, there will be no refunds.
How do I know if I am registered?
You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of registering for the event. If you did not receive this email, contact us at info@runmalibumarathon.com
What will the registration charge show up as on my bank statement?
The merchant name that will appear on your bank statement is FOREVER RUNNERS.
What is the cancelation policy?
In keeping with standard marathon/ event policy, The Malibu International Marathon does not offer refunds or transfers of registrations. (http://www.malibuintmarathon.com/waiver.htm) Please email a request with your cancellation and include your name, street address, age and phone number phone number to contact@malibuintmarathon.com.
Can someone else pick up my bib number?
No, you are required to come to the Health & Fitness Expo to pick up your racing needs.
When and where is packet pickup?
Packet pickup is at the Health & Fitness Expo at Zuma Beach (30500 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu 90265). It will be open from 11 a.m. to sunset (5
p.m.) November 9th and from 10 a.m. to sunset (5 p.m.) on November 10th.
Can I pick up my packet on Race Day?
No, they will not be available to pick up on race day. You are required to pick it up at the Health & Fitness expo on November 8th or 9th, 2013.
Can you mail me my packet?
No, we cannot mail you your race packet. You are required to pick it up at the Health & Fitness expo on November 8th or 9th, 2013.
Will the Half Marathon Finishers receive different medals from the Full Marathon Finishers?
The Half Marathon medals will be slightly smaller than the Full Marathon Medals.
Will there be prize money?
There is no prize money set yet for this year's event. The top three men and women will receive a plaque. The top three barefoot runners will receive a special award. There will be an awards ceremony at Zuma Beach starting at 12:00 p.m.

According to weather.com, the average low in November is 42 degrees and the average high is 75 degrees in Malibu and the average low in Camarillo is 48 degrees and the average high is 70 degrees.
